Jump starting Global Tourism for Philippine Hotels

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Jumpstart

Recent studies show that 1 out of 5 hotel bookings are now online & 53% of all internet bookings will be directly with hotel-owned websites. While the rest of the hotel world has already tuned in to ecommerce, Philippine hotels/resorts are slowly catching up.

As more travelers feel more secure and comfortable doing it the ecommerce way, local hotels need to shape up in order to keep up with this major development.

With Xpressbooking Simple and Secure, hotels/resorts can now confirm bookings and process credit card payments instantly online.

eMalling: A New Way for Filipinos All Over the World To Shop

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Filipinos are the world’s leading Internet consumers of social networking, video watching, photo sharing and blog reading. Can they be the world’s leading online shoppers?

Finaly, the World’s #1 Online Store Creator arrives in the Philippines via eMalling. eMalling is based on OSCommerce, which runs 193,000 stores, worldwide. 1 out 5 online stores runs on OSCommerce.

According to InternetWorldStats, Filipino internet users raised to over 14,000,000 population with 600% penetration rate and amazingly on the top 10 countries in Asia, eCommerce in the Philippines is expected to boom in the next two few years. Right now, we see so many products being sold in eBay.ph and to the famous social-commercial networking site, Multiply.com.

Asiapay introduces it’s new service called eMalling that enables the Filipinos to have shopping experience taken to a next level. With this online store system, it minimizes the fear of Filipinos worrying about their cards being used by others. eMalling has its cool feature called pre-authentication - a tool and an added process that makes it harder for fraudsters to purchase using stolen credit cards. eMalling also allows the consumers to pay on a recurring mode, which, according to the Credit Card Association of the Philippines, 80% of the credit cards in the Philippines are on stretch payments. That said, eMalling becomes a prefect tool for companies who wants to target the Filipino market worldwide.

Wrapping up 2007 for AsiaPay Philippines

Friday, December 28th, 2007

It’s nice to look back to the year that was with the key milestones in AsiaPay Philippines. Again, we thank all who made this year a great one:

1 & 2. PesoPay and eBigay launch.

March 2007. We kicked off PesoPay, the first full eCommerce and ePayment service with Banco de Oro, through the Reconnect event (in partnership between Venture for Fund Raising, MRM Worldwide, AsiaPay and BDO, formerly ECN). 200 non-profits attended to see the power of online giving thru Reconnect portal and PesoPay. As we’ve launched PesoPay, we also introduced these concepts showing PesoPay’s killer apps simulate how Filipinos love to pay: eHulugan (advanced prepayment), eGives (installment payment), eTingi (minimized payment), and eBigay (online donations).

May 2007. We initiated the eBiz is eAsy campaign to show everyone that setting up eCommerce initiatives is not complicated, expensive, risky at all. And so eBiz is eAsy web blog was born: AsiaPay PH’s viral e-marketing tool and online advocacy campaign with eBiz tips, PesoPay features and eSuccess stories, news, and guides for merchant’s eCommerce venture.

June to July 2007. We then moved forward to the 24 to 1 campaign: “Accelerate your eBusiness launch from 24 weeks to 1 week” where we invited our merchants to our office every Tuesday mornings and conduct a free coaching weekly seminar to help new merchants in planning, launching, and executing their eBusiness plans.

August 2007. We introduced the PesoPay / eBigay express activation, a value add service comprising the basic setup and activation of the following in merchant’s website: shopping page, customer profile registration, check out page integrated to PesoPay payment page when we turnover the merchant account. Merchants now can have eBiz agad! eSales agad! Watch out for more enchanced eCommerce OSCommerce platforms to be developed and launched in 2008.

3. eCommerista launch.

November 2007. eCommerce is now brewing up in the Philippines so we spearheaded Merchant Community Building through Contact Networking Events called eCommerista nights. It’s a monthly gathering of entrepreneurs and professionals that allows them to network, learn and be inspired by each other, hosted by AsiaPay Philippines in Mag:net Cafe BHS. We’ve already had 1.0 and 2.0 eCommerista nights in 2007 and still more to come in 2008.

4. ShopPay launch.

December 2007. We would love to help our merchants bring their shopping pages to the Friendster/Multiply generation. Hence, ShopPaybeta is here! May you enjoy the gift of ShopPay and have a viral marketing new year!

We are excited to have established AsiaPay in the Philippines this year and we’re looking forward to expanding and making eCommerce fly here and beyond next year!
